Prólogo
El apellido “Kong” cautiva. Evoca al Rey de los Simios, a sexo salvaje, al antro cumbianchero que estaba en un callejón cerca del teatro Blanquita o a todo un batallón de esas toscas mujeres policía.
Así, con interpretaciones libres de lo que significa “Kong”, estos tíos se pusieron a darle color y dimensiones de cartel. Pero les digo que remite a algo sexoso. Sexual oloroso o solo “sexy” como dicen en la tele.
Por ejemplo, aquí pueden ver el cartel del Dr. Alderete y Quique Ollervides. Por una parte lo animal, por otra la belleza femenina unidos por un Hula-Hula. Pinche Quique, tenía que hacer el anuncio. No se aguantó. Pero de eso se trata, de no aguantarse. La vida se nos va aguantándonos. Nomás faltaba que también a la hora de crear. O a la hora de hacer un sueño realidad: “Kong” la tienda-galería.
Federico Jordan y Zeloot ilustran lo que todos pensamos pero nunca expresamos: lo que haríamos con una bella chica literalmente en nuestras manos. Si, somos unos cerdos, digo, unos simios. Y carnívoros.
Sergio Mora le dejó el pito con un aire infantil y cordial. En cambio, el Neasden Control Centre se lo quitó con violencia.
En “Kongal” de Oscar Reyes se puede ver a una de las mujeres que más pasiones despertaron en mi adolescencia: Rosita Bouchot. Eróticamente alcanzable, nuestra girl next door versión Mexploitation. Seguro acabó en casa de un político parecido a Urko. A muchas vedettes y kongaleras les gustaban las jaulas de oro.
Asch, no mames que no te acuerdas de Urko!.
Que chingones nombres tenían los simios, verdad?: Kong, Urko, Zaius y claro…el inolvidable y casero Gorgo. Les tenemos un gran afecto porque seguro conocemos a alguien que se parece a ellos.
Y así, nos podríamos pasar horas charlando en la tienda-galería “Kong”. Hilando cabos, teorías de conspiración, tomando algo y escuchando música sin aguantarnos, sin restricciones, descubriendo nuevas y viejas formas de expresión o que: ya te las sabes todas, no?. Eso déjalo para la Condesa. Kong está en la Roma.

Foreword
The name "Kong" captivates. It evokes the King of the Apes, wild sex, the cumbia club in an alley close to Blanquita theater or a whole battalion of rough female cops. Thus, with free interpretations of what "Kong" means, these guys set out to give it color and poster dimensions. But I insist, it evokes something drenched in sex. Sexual, smelly or just "sexy" as they say in TV. For example, here we can see the poster designed by Dr. Alderete and Quique Ollervides. One part animal, one part female beauty, joined together by a hula Hoop. Damn Quique, he had to make an announcement. He didn't hold bak. But that's the point, not to hold back. Life passes us by holding back. We shouldn't hold back when it comes to creating something. Or making a dream come true: "Kong" the design store and gallery. Federico Jordan and Zeloot illustrate what we all think of but never express: what we would do with a beautiful girl literally in our hand. Yes, we are pigs, I mean, apes. And Carnivore.
Sergio Mora left the penis hanging in a childish friendly manner. Neasden Control Centre yanked it off violently instead. In Oscar Reyes' "Kongal" we can see one of the girls that sparked most of my teenage passions: Rosita Bouchot. Erotically out of reach, our Mexploitation version of the girl next door. Surely she ended up in some politicians house, one who resembled Urko. Many vedettes and strippers fancied golden cages. Ugh, don't tell me you don't remember Urko! Apes had kick ass names didn't they?: Kong, Urko, Zaius and of course the unforgettable and homely Gorgo. We are very fond of them because we surely know someone exactly alike. And so we could spend hours chatting in the "Kong" design store and gallery. Joining the dots, creating conspiracy theories, having a drink and listening to good music without holding back, without restrictions, discovering new and old ways of expressing ideas, or, do you know them all already? Leave that to posers at la Condesa. Kong is in la Roma.
